Tungaloy expands their GunDrilling series.

Wednesday, August 08, 2018

The Tungaloy gun drilling range has been well received in the industry and this has now led the Japanese cutting tool manufacturer to extend the line further.

Tungaloy further expands it's popular indexable gun drill series, DeepTriDrill to include a diameter range of 28.01mm - 40mm or 1.1" - 1.57".

Deep hole drilling is a challenging operation, often inducing bottlenecks in many manufacturing shops. Brazed gun drills and solid drills and traditional tools for this operation.

The typical brazed gun drills usually accommodate a single-flute, non coated carbide tip, which constrain it's applications to low parameter drilling. The solid test drill is better for high feed drilling; however curved holes and chip clogging are common setbacks.
